The game is expected to be republished around Christmas this year on PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.
Almost six years ago the beat-’em-up was removed from digital storefronts, making it impossible to buy or plat the game if you didn’t already own a copy.
Now, following much speculation and a high demand from fans, the game based on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s comics is making a return in time of its 10 year anniversary.
The announcement was made today during the Ubisoft’s digital conference- Ubisoft Forward. The company unveiled a brand new trailer for the ‘Complete Edition’ of the game, which will include both the Knives Chau and Wallace Wells add-on packs.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game was originally launched in 2010 for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, going along with the release of Edgar Wright’s film adaptation of the graphic novel series. Following the film’s success, the game was critically acclaimed but didn’t sell too well, cementing its place as a cult classic.
For a while there wasn’t much hope for a rerelease, with O’Malley tweeting recently the he would be “surprised” if Ubisoft ever decided to bring it back.
Earlier this year, however, Edgar Wright himself confirmed that he was working together with Ubisoft and O’Malley on bringing the game back, and it would seem like he has succeeded!
